This Privacy Policy explains how Pixoby ("we," "us," or "our") collects, uses and shares information when you use Voltz: Circuit Simulator (the "App") or visit https://voltz.pixoby.space (the "Website"). Voltz is an app for designing electronic circuits and simulating them in real time on your device.
In short: you do not need to sign up, your circuits are stored on your device, the App contains no ads, and we do not sell your personal information. The only content that leaves your device for our servers is what you choose to send: questions about your circuit and circuits you share to the Community, described below.
1. Information We Collect
- Anonymous account: When you first open the App, it automatically creates an anonymous account on our server. We do not ask for your name, email address or a password. The account consists of a random identifier and an authentication token, which the App keeps in secure storage on your device. The account lets the App connect your subscription status, your questions about your circuits and your Community activity to you.
- Your circuits: Circuits you build and save are stored on your device. We do not upload them to our servers. When you share a circuit as a
.volt file or export it as a PNG image, it goes wherever you choose to send it through your device's share options. - Asking about your circuit (Voltz Pro): When you ask the AI about the circuit you have open, the App sends your question together with a text description of that circuit (its parts, values, connections and current readings) to our server. Our server forwards this to OpenRouter, a service that routes the request to the AI model provider that generates the answer. We store your questions and the answers on our server, linked to your anonymous account, so you can see them again. The circuit description is used only to answer that question and is not stored by us. Please do not include personal information in your questions.
- Community: When you share a circuit to the Community, its name, description and circuit data are published and visible to all Voltz users, together with an anonymous author name (for example "Maker 7F3A") derived from your account. We also store the circuits you like and any reports you make. You can remove a shared circuit at any time. Blocked authors are remembered only on your device.
- Subscription and purchase information: Voltz Pro is sold through Google Play (and the Apple App Store once Voltz is available on iOS). The store processes your payment; we never receive your card details. We use RevenueCat to manage subscriptions. RevenueCat receives your anonymous account identifier and purchase details such as the product, price, transaction identifiers, trial status and renewal dates, so the App can unlock Pro features and restore your purchases.
- Usage analytics: We use Google Firebase Analytics (Google Analytics) to understand how the App is used, for example which screens are opened and which features are used. This includes device model, operating system, app version, language, approximate location (country or region derived from your IP address) and an app instance identifier. We do not collect precise location.
- Crash reports: When the App crashes or hits an error, it sends a crash report to GlitchTip, our error tracking service. Reports include technical details such as the error and stack trace, device model, operating system, app version and the steps in the App that led to the error.
- Push notifications: If you allow notifications, the App receives a device token from Firebase Cloud Messaging so we can send you notifications. You can turn notifications off at any time in your device settings.
- Website: The Website may use Google Analytics and similar technologies (such as cookies) to measure visits and understand which pages are useful. Your browser lets you block or delete cookies.
2. How We Use Information
- Provide the App, keep your anonymous account signed in, and secure the service
- Answer your questions about your circuit and run the Community (show shared circuits, count likes, handle reports)
- Unlock Voltz Pro, manage subscriptions and free trials, and restore purchases
- Understand how the App is used and improve it (analytics)
- Find and fix crashes and bugs (crash reports)
- Send notifications you have allowed
- Comply with the law, enforce our terms, and protect the rights, safety and security of users and the service
3. No Ads, No Sale of Data
Voltz does not show ads. We do not sell your personal information and we do not share it with third parties for targeted advertising.
4. Who We Share Information With
We share information only with service providers that help us run Voltz, and only as needed for the purposes above:
- Our backend server: hosts your anonymous account, your questions about your circuits and the Community.
- OpenRouter and the AI model providers it routes to: receive your question and the circuit description in order to generate an answer.
- Google: Firebase Analytics (Google Analytics), Firebase Cloud Messaging for push notifications, and Google Play for purchases.
- Apple: the App Store for purchases, once Voltz is available on iOS.
- RevenueCat: subscription management.
- GlitchTip: crash and error reporting.
- Legal and compliance: when required by law, to protect rights and safety, or as part of a merger, acquisition or sale of assets.
5. Legal Bases (EEA and UK users)
Where the GDPR or similar laws apply, we rely on: performance of a contract (providing the App, asking about your circuit, the Community and your subscription), legitimate interests (analytics, crash reporting and keeping the service secure), consent (push notifications, and cookies on the Website where required), and compliance with legal obligations.
6. Data Retention
Circuits stay on your device until you delete them or uninstall the App. Your questions about your circuits, your Community posts, likes and reports, and your anonymous account are kept while you use the App and deleted on request. Analytics, crash and purchase records are kept for as long as needed for the purposes above or as required by law, according to each provider's retention settings.
7. Your Rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete or port your data, to object to or restrict certain processing, and to withdraw consent. To make a request, email us at info@pixoby.space. Because your account is anonymous, we may ask for details that help us locate your data. You may also complain to your local data protection authority.
8. Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information, including encryption in transit and secure storage of your authentication token on your device. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure.
9. International Transfers
Our service providers may process information in countries other than your own. Where required, we rely on appropriate safeguards for these transfers, such as the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses.
10. Children's Privacy
Voltz is not directed to children under 13 (or under 16 in the EEA and UK). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under these ages. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, contact us and we will delete it.
11. California Privacy Rights
California residents have the right to know, access, correct and delete certain personal information, and to opt out of its sale or sharing for cross-context behavioral advertising. We do not sell or share personal information in this way. To exercise your rights, email info@pixoby.space.
12. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy. We will post the new version here and update the "Last updated" date. Where the law requires, we will tell you about material changes.
